Honourable Mr Justice Westmin James

The Honourable Mr Justice Westmin James currently serves as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Trinidad and Tobago. Immediately prior to this appointment, he acted as a Judge of the High Court of Barbados, and before that, as an Acting Justice of the Supreme Court of Belize.

Justice James is the immediate past President and a sitting Judge of the Caribbean Community Administrative Tribunal (CCAT). He also the current President of the Inter-American Development Bank Administrative Tribunal.

He previously served as a Lecturer and Deputy Dean at the Faculty of Law, University of the West Indies (UWI), Cave Hill Campus, where he taught courses including Constitutional Law, Commonwealth Caribbean Human Rights Law, and Employment Law. Justice James has published scholarly work in the areas of constitutional law and human rights, and is the co-author, with Professor Alina Kaczorowska-Ireland, of a textbook on Commonwealth Caribbean Law and Procedure.
