Honourable Mohabir Anil Nandlall SC MP

Mohabir Anil Nandlall SC is the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana. He is also the Secretary to the Defence Board of Guyana, Chairman of the Guyana Law Revision Commission, Chairman of Guyana’s AML/CFT/CPF National Coordinating Committee and member of the Constitutional Reform Commission of Guyana.

Mr. Nandlall has been a Parliamentarian in Guyana continuously since 2006 and served as the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs of Guyana from December, 2011 to May, 2015, for a second time from August, 2020 to September, 2025. He was recently reappointed on September 13, 2025 to serve for a third term as Attorney General. He was conferred Silk (Senior Counsel) in October, 2020.

Over the past twenty five years, in the legal profession, Mr. Nandlall has appeared both in private practice and as Attorney General in almost every leading Constitutional, Public Law and Election related cases in Guyana, most of which have culminated at the Caribbean Court of Justice. Many are reported in West Indian Law Reports, Commonwealth Law Reports and the Guyana Law Reports.

As Attorney General he has pioneered some of the most landmark pieces of legislation in the Guyanese Parliament. Currently, Mr. Nandlall is part of Guyana’s legal team in Guyana’s border controversy case against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
