Professor David Berry

David S Berry, Professor of International Law and Regional Integration Law, BA, LLB, LLM, PhD, PGCUTL, FCIArb, teaches and practices international law and international commercial arbitration. His book, Caribbean Integration Law (OUP, 2014), is widely cited and used regionally and internationally. He is on the Roll of Eminent Caribbean International Law Jurists and is a recipient of the Principal’s Award for Excellence (Academic). For eight years he served as Dean of Law, UWI Cave Hill, and for four years as University Dean of Law.

In his legal practice he has advised corporations, governments and international organisations, including with treaty drafting and international litigation. He was appointed arbitrator in two ICSID arbitrations and served as the CARICOM ABMT Lead in the negotiations towards the BBNJ Agreement. His recent work is on the law of the sea, IMO GHG regulation and climate change. He is a Consultant at Berrys Attorneys and Arbitrators (Barbados).
