Honourable Mme Justice Sandra GangadinNanhoe

Sabitadevie Sandra GangadinNanhoe, born on March 13th, 1973, in Paramaribo, Suriname, got married in 1998. She began her career in 1998 at the Ministry of Health Suriname where she worked until 2010, coordinating bilateral and multilateral programs and International Relations of afore mentioned ministry. In January 2010 she switched to the Ministry of Justice & Police from where she started her 5-year study as a trainee-judge.               

She graduated from the Anton de Kom University of Suriname as a lawyer in 2000 and completed a post graduate course on international relations at the F.H.R. Lim A Po Institute for Social Studies in 2003, at which institute she also acquired her master’s degree in public administration in Governance in 2007. After completing her 5-year education as a trainee-judge, on October 1st, 2014, she was appointed as a judge of the Court of Justice of Suriname and sworn in in December 2014 as such. As a judge she mostly does civil cases in first instance and in appeal. From 2018 on she has been mentoring and guiding trainee-judges. As of June 2021, she was appointed as a member of the Disciplinary Institute for Notaries (Family/Estate Attorneys). In 2022 she started giving lectures in comparative law and moot court as a part timer at the Anton de Kom University of Suriname.

Since 2015 she is a member of the CAJO-Management Committee.
