Honourable Mr Justice Navindra Singh

Justice Navindra A. Singh, Acting Chief Justice of Guyana, was born in the county of Essequibo, Guyana in 1973. He attended the prestigious Queen’s College High School in Georgetown. He holds a B.Sc. in Biology from St. John’s University (New York), an LLB from the University of Guyana, and a Legal Education Certificate from the Sir Hugh Wooding Law School, Trinidad, where he distinguished himself by leading the school to victory in the inter-Caribbean mooting competition.

He practiced law before the courts of Guyana from 2001 to 2007 and subsequently in the State of New York, appearing before state, federal, and immigration courts. He is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Appointed to the High Court in 2012, Justice Singh was elevated to the Court of Appeal in 2025 and now serves as Acting Chief Justice of Guyana. He is a member of MENSA, an international society for individuals with exceptional intellectual ability.
