Dr Sharon Le Gall is a Senior Legal Consultant, with over twenty-five years of professional experience. She has been engaged in many capacities such as Project Consultant, Administrator, and Technical Expert by international and regional organizations such as the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) (which is the UN specialized body for Intellectual Property), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat, and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
She is a published author of a book entitled Intellectual Property, Traditional Knowledge and Cultural Property Protection: Cultural Signifiers in the Caribbean and the Americas. She has also authored over thirty (30) research papers, technical reports, and policy documents on intellectual property and traditional knowledge protection in the Caribbean. She has presented at conferences in Australia, Jamaica, Israel, Switzerland, and Thailand in intellectual property law and the protection of traditional knowledge.
